Barbara Ann Schroeder of Landenberg, Pennsylvania passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at her home.  She was 69 years old.

Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Barbara was the daughter of the late Edward John Waters and the late Annie Laurie Meredith Waters, members of the Baltimore deaf community.  She was a 1965 graduate of Mercy High School and continued her education at Neumann College in Aston, Pennsylvania where she graduated summa cum laude in 1989 and her Master's Degree from Bryn Mawr College School of Social Work and Social Research in 1992.  She engaged her career at the Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia and Child, Inc. in Wilmington until her retirement in 2010.

She was the beloved wife of Mark Edwin Schroeder; beloved mother of Christian A. Schroeder and his wife Jennifer; grandmother of Liam, Aren, Sydney, Greta, Merys and Koen; sister of Dr. John S. Waters of Decateur, IL and the late Gerald A. Waters.

Per Barbara's wishes, her services will be private.

Memorial donations may be made in Barbara's memory to a charity of choice.
