Gilbert "Tex" Edge Thomas of Parkesburg, Pennsylvania passed away on Monday, April 17, 2017 at his home.  He was 65 years old.  Born in West Chester, Chester County Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Lawrence S. Thomas and the late Cora Lawrence Thomas.

Gilbert was educated in the West Chester Public Schools and was employed for many years by Ruggeri Cadillac as a auto mechanic and detailer.

He was the beloved husband of Joan M. Brison Thomas; father of Kelly Jasper (Ahmez), Jacquelyn Thomas and Shawn Thomas; step-father of Robert Brison (Jacqueline) and Karla Griffin; grandfather of Evan Jasper and Tyshawn Thompson; brother of Lawrence Thomas, Jr. (Brenda), Harlan M. Thomas, Sr., John H. Thomas, Sr. (Donna), Florence M. Thomas, Maryann Merritt, Agnes Haman (Andrew), Doris Mickens (Tracy), Cora Thomas, Marlene Barkesdale (Paul) and Vivian Francis.  He was predeceased by siblings, Harry S. Thomas, Sr., William W. Thomas, Ronald S. Thomas, Maurice Frances and Wanda M. Thomas.

A going home service will be at 11:00AM on Friday, April 21, 2017 at the HIGHWAY GOSPEL COMMUNITY TEMPLE, 418 E. Miner Street, West Chester, PA.  The viewing will be at the CHURCH from 9:00AM until 11:00AM.  Burial will follow the service in Rolling Green Memorial Park, 1008 W. Chester Pike, West Chester, PA.
