Jean A. (Rector) Pratt

Jean A. Pratt (Rector), 96, of Kennett Square, PA, passed away peacefully with family by her side at Pocopson Home on Saturday, February 10th.  Jean is survived by sister Hazel Irwin Hairsine, son John (Chris) Pratt, daughter Jane Pratt, grandchildren Kim Pratt and Scott (Carrie) Pratt, and great-grandchildren Ian and Lucie Dietrich.  She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Pratt, and siblings Ernie Rector, Cecil Rector and Nancy Yerkes.  She was affectionately known as “Auntie Jean” by many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

She was the bookkeeper for Arnold Veterinary for many years and had a great love and appreciation for animals and nature.  Always a source of joy in her life, she loved caring for children as much as they enjoyed her.  Jean was guided by her strong faith, warm heart and offered gentle kindness to all.  She brought a smile to many with her sense of humor and sense of adventure.

A life celebration memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 11:30 AM at the WILLOWDALE CHAPEL, 675 Unionville Road, Kennett Square, PA.  Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Willowdale Chapel, www.willowdalechapel.org, where she was a founding member and former Sunday school teacher.
