Kenneth M. TewAugust 28, 1940 ~ August 24, 2011 (age 70)
Kenneth Millard Tew of Unionville, Pennsylvania passed away on August 24, 2011 at Life Care Hospital of Chester County. He was 70 years old. Kenneth was born August 28, 1940 and was the son of the late Lewis Harry Tew and Eula Michael (nee Smith).
Born and raised in Topeka, Kansas, Ken was active in the Boy Scouts, achieving The Order of the Arrow. His active participation led him to become an Eagle Scout. As a scout, Ken learned to Indian Dance and performed throughout Europe while attending the World Wide Jamborees.
In his professional career as a corporate aircraft pilot, Ken flew for the Conoco Oil Company and later the DuPont Company. As an international pilot, Ken piloted executives to the Middle East, Africa, Alaska and all over the world in search of new oil finds for the company. He retired in 1994.
Ken was involved in many sports. He played football in high school and college in Kansas, where he was a swimming instructor at Camp Jayhawk. Later in life, Ken became a very competitive tennis player. After retiring from DuPont, Ken did not slow down. He was always active in his son's sporting activities. He would later become a referee and assignor for soccer, basketball, ice hockey and lacrosse events.
He was the beloved husband of Margo Tew (nee Bamford) for 42 years; father of Todd Tew and his wife Vicki and Chad Tew; grandfather of Isaiah Tew, Mitchell Tew and Joseph Tew. Also survived by his brother, Larry Tew.

A funeral service will be at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at the LONGWOOD FUNERAL HOME of MATTHEW GENEREUX, 913 East Baltimore Pike in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania 19348, where a visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
