Robert Hoopes Kendall of Crosslands and formerly of Glen Mills, Pennsylvania passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at his home.  He was 80 years old.  Born in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Robert B. Kendall and the late Catherine Kendall (nee Hoopes).

Robert completed his undergraduate studies at Lehigh University, where he was a member of the Theta Xi fraternity and later earned his M.B.A. from Fairleigh Dickinson University.  Robert worked in the accounting division of Scott Paper Company.  He retired in March of 1993 after 40 years of devoted service.  Robert served our country in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1957. 

Robert was an active member of Calvary Lutheran Church in West Chester for 32 years, where he served  as a tally team member, greeter and usher.  When he and Dale moved to Coniston and later to Crosslands, Robert participated in the water volleyball club and other community activities.  He also enjoyed his membership at the Kennett YMCA.  His talents in his profession had Robert tapped as treasurer for many organizations over the years.  He was past-president of the National Association of Accountants in Mobile, Alabama.

Robert is the beloved husband for 52 years to Dale Reed Kendall; father of Robert R. Kendall and his wife Denise Lindman, Virginia K. Covert and her husband John Covert and William S. Kendall and his wife Kelley Kendall; grandfather of Elise C. Covert, Sarah L. Covert, Matthew S. Kendall, Daniel R. Kendall, Michael and Amanda Rohde, Sharilyn and David Erickson and Steven Rohde; great-grandfather of 8; brother of Nancy J. Carr.

A funeral service will be offered at 11:00AM on Monday, January 7, 2013 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 730 S. New Street in West Chester, Pennsylvania.  Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 AM until 11:00AM at the church.  A memorial luncheon will follow the service in the church hall.  Burial with United States Air Force military honors will follow the luncheon in Unionville Cemetery, Doe Run Road & Cemetery Lane in Unionville, Pennsylvania.
