Barbara Lee Fitzgerald of Oxford, Pennsylvania passed away at her home on Thursday morning, October 20, 2022. She was 74 years old.
Barbara was a devout Christian and was church Secretary of Kennett Square Missionary Baptist Church. She supported multiple Christian organizations, mission trips and involved in visitations. She was the matriarch and fiercely devoted to her family and husband. Everyone turned to her for guidance and help. Mom was an adventurer and always up for a challenge. From dog sledding to fan boating and everything in between. One of her more recent adventures was with her son and daughter on a 9500-mile driving trip out west. She was a member of the couple's line dance group the Southern Sidekicks for over 25 years. Academically, she expanded her education through multiple courses in college and extracurricular classes where she excelled, even making the Dean's list at Cecil County college. After Mom retired from Corporation Service Company where she worked for 22 years, she worked part time as a banquet server at Wyncote Golf Course. She also, started an Airbnb in Potter County and this was her second business, earlier in life she founded a small bookkeeping business called Office Elves. She lived a rich and fulfilling life that will be remembered lovingly by family and friends.
Barbara was the beloved wife of Wayne Fitzgerald; mother of Michelle (Shelli) Vannoy, and Michael Quinn; step-mother of Nakia Lewis and Scott Fitzgerald; grandmother of Ben Vannoy, Jr., Devon Vannoy, Larry Eller, Jr., Dylan Fitzgerald, Michael Quinn, Jr., and Seth Fitzgerald; great-grandmother of Silas Vannoy, Ronan Vannoy, Lilah Eller and River Eller; sister of Susan Broems.
Visitation with the family will be from 1:00PM until 2:00PM with a Memorial Service at 2:00PM on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Kennett Square Missionary Baptist Church, 408 Bayard Road, Kennett Square. Burial will follow in Longwood Cemetery. Fellowship and refreshment will follow the burial at the church.
