Carl DiEgidio Obituary

Carl J. DiEgidio of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and children on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at his home.  He was 70 years old.  Born on January 20,1948 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Carl was the son of the late Henry DiEgidio and the late Dolores DeRocco DiEgidio.

Carl was the beloved husband of Gail May Glotfelty DiEgidio for 49 years; Proud father of Carl Michael, Rebecca Ann Orischak (Bob), Melissa Lee and Matthew James; grandfather of Mason Tyler; brother of the late Warren DiEgidio, Hank DiEgidio (Vicky), Tiff DiEgidio Schatzberg, Theresa DiEgidio, Christine DiEgidio Rentz and Heather DiEgidio, daughter of Caroline DiEgidio.   Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Carl was a brave veteran who proudly served his country. With a degree from Saint Joseph's University, he went on to serve as the Controller at Del Chevrolet for 35 years.  Formerly of Aldan Delaware County, he also served as Treasurer for 22 years.

He enjoyed gardening, spending time with his family, and especially playing and making his grandson laugh.

Carl battled multiple myeloma for three-years, truly demonstrating the DiEgidio "CAN DO" mentality.  Determined and tough, he fought to spend as many days as possible with his family.  He put his family first until his final days, and loved them with his whole heart.  Carl’s family would like to thank the Paoli Cancer Center for their constant care and compassion shown to Carl.

Per Carl's wishes, services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Carl's memory may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Eastern Pennsylvania,www.donate.lls.org to work towards a cure for multiple myeloma.  Their mission is: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

Heaven gained another angel....No longer by our sides but forever in our hearts!
