Carol June Wyatt (Her legal name was Caroline...have fun trying to get her admit to it.) passed away on Sunday, July 2nd 2017, less than a year away from her 50th wedding anniversary.  She was born September 14th, 1947 in was then called West Chester Hospital, the second eldest of nine siblings in total.  She grew up in a what was considered a haunted farmhouse in Landenberg, Pennsylvania where a phantom bull could be heard in the barn. 

At age 17 she met someone who she would spend the rest of her life with….her future husband Charles Ned Wyatt.  Married on May 25th, 1968, they had one son Charles Ned Wyatt Jr. 

Not just a housewife and mother, Carol had a variety of occupations including seamstress, circuit board assembler and eventually found her work home at Genesis Health Ventures. In the classic business success story, she started off in the mailroom and worked her way up to be an accountant in the company.  She was a dedicated and passionate worker, driven to provide for her family and proud of her job where she eventually spent over twenty years.

A generous soul, Carol cared for nothing more than to be a nurturing person regardless if it was another human or another animal.  She even provided hospice care to an old, stray cat on the verge of passing, making his last days loved and safe.  She enjoyed having cook outs with her family with kids playing in the yard.  Christmas Eve was an open house affair where all were welcome.  Friend or biological family--it didn’t matter to her; you were hers and she loved you. 

In her late 30s, she was diagnosed with extensive rheumatoid arthritis.  This began a lifelong struggle with multiple compounding illnesses.  Rarely did it bring her spirits down.  She kept her firecracker nature, deadpan wit and drive to be a productive member of society giving all around her the inspiration to keep positive and moving no matter how hard it hurts. 

There is an old saying sometimes you climb the mountain, sometimes the mountain climbs you.  After 30 years of painful illness, the mountain finally climbed her.  Carol is survived by her husband Charles Ned Wyatt, her son Charles Ned Wyatt Jr and her daughter-in-law Tara-Alanna McCray Wyatt.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Edward, who passed away in July 2008 and is also survived by her siblings Fred (Carol) of Marietta, GA; Regina of Malvern, PA; Don (Maria) of Lansdale, PA.; Gale Steele (George) of Lincoln University, PA; Michael (Alvita) of York, PA, Mark (Stephen Rifici) of West Grove, PA and Matthew (Kim) of Elm Grove, WI. 

She will be missed immensely.

A memorial service will be at 7:00PM on Friday, July 7, 2017 at the LONGWOOD FUNERAL HOME of MATTHEW GENEREUX, 913 East Baltimore Pike, Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.  Visitation with the family will be from 5:00PM until 7:00PM.

Burial will be private.
