James A. Angelucci passed away suddenly on Friday, June 5, 2026 at his home in Boerne, Texas.  He was 76 years old.  Born in Wilmington, Delaware, he was the son of the late Dominic A. Angelucci and the late Rosemary Perrone Angelucci.

Jim grew up on South Street in Kennett Square, PA alongside his four siblings.  He attended St. Patrick’s School and graduated from Kennett High School.  Following graduation, Jim enlisted in the United States Navy and was stationed in Guam during the Vietnam War.  He remained a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy throughout of his life.  After returning to Kennett Square, Jim reunited with Sharon Felicetti, which led to 53 years of marriage.  In 1976 they welcomed Brian into the family, followed by Anita in 1979. 

After his military service, Jim began his career at Phillips Mushroom Farm, alongside William Phillips and his sons Don and Marshall.  Over the years, Jim developed strong friendships with both Don and Marshall and came to consider the Phillips family an extension of his own.  He became an integral part of the growth and development of the Phillips organization. During his remarkable 53-year career, Jim worked with four generations of the Phillips family and numerous colleagues throughout the farm.  He was deeply proud of the business he helped build and cherished the friendships and professional relationships he formed along the way.

In addition to his contributions at Phillips, Jim was heavily involved in the mushroom industry through the American Mushroom Institute and The Mushroom Council.  His  accomplishments, awards, and recognition were numerous. Known throughout the world as an ambassador for the U.S. mushroom industry, Jim was often the first person people turned to for honest, experienced advice and knowledge about all things mushrooms.

Yet, despite his many professional achievements Jim was most proud of his family.   He loved sharing stories of his children’s and grandchildren’s accomplishments and took great joy in their successes.  Jim treasured the many Guerrina family reunions held over the years, and would smile broadly when recounting memories of growing up in an Italian-American family in Kennett Square during the 50’s and 60’s.

More than any title, award, or professional accomplishment, Jim cherished his role as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.  Those who knew him best will remember not only what he achieved, but the love, generosity, and pride he shared with his family every day.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Angelucci (nee Felicetti); his children, Brian J. Angelucci (Alexis) and Anita A. Bartoski (Dave); his grandchildren, Rachel Greer (Elliot), Alexis Elizabeth Bartoski and Sydney Abigail Bartoski; his siblings, Richard (Dee), Mary (Scott), Tony (Dawn) and Margaret (Rich).

A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:30AM on Monday, June 29, 2026 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 212 Meredith Street, Kennett Square.  Interment with United States Navy military honors will follow at the columbarium in St. Patrick Cemetery.  Visitation and a reception with the family will follow at the Red Clay Room, 423 Dalmatian Street, Kennett Square.
