Loukianos "Louko" Hionis

Loukianos "Louko" Hionis of Christiana, Pennsylvania passed away suddenly on Thursday, June 6, 2019.  He was 25 years old.

Louko was the beloved son of Loukianos and Linda McCoy Hionis; brother of Alexandra Hionis, Anna Hionis and the late Evangelia Hionis; grandson of the late Dorothy and the late John McCoy and and the late Alexander and Dorothea Hionis; nephew of Sandra (John) Losco, John McCoy, Joyce (George) Matafias, Evanggelos (Cynthia) Hionis, and Alexander, II, (Nina) Hionis; cousin of Shannon McCoy, Rachel McCoy, Arianna Matafias, Melina Matafias, Konstantine Hionis, Dorothea Hionis, Eliana Hionis, Falina Hionis and Aleco Hionis.

Louko was known affectionately by his friends and family as “Louie” or “Little Louie.”  Louie brought laughter to all who met him.

Louie graduated from The Tatnall School in 2012.  He was pursuing a degree in business at Temple University Fox School of Business.  Since he was fifteen years old, Louie worked at the family business, leading to his love for culinary arts.

He approached his life with a big sense of humor and an even bigger heart.  He was a beloved son, brother, cousin, best friend, and an amazing human being.  As an avid fisherman, Louie was always adventurous and deeply connected to nature.  He pursued his hobby for fishing in as many ways as possible, spending hours on the water, where he was truly happy.

Louie had a contagious character that brought joy and laughter to everyone he knew.  Never shy to speak his mind, Louie’s perspective on life was refreshing.  His friends and family will remember him for his mischievous sense of humor that was always delivered with love.  Louie was proud of his heritage and spent many summers in Greece with his family, where he learned to spear fish, snorkel and drive the boat with his Papou. When he wasn’t in Greece, you could find him on his kayak or on the shore in Fenwick Island.

Visitation with the family will be from 10:00AM until 12:00PM and a Funeral Liturgy service at 12:00PM on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at St. GEORGE GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH, 30 E. Forge Road, Media, Pennsylvania.

Burial will follow the service in Edgewood Memorial Park, Glen Mills, Pennsylvania.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. George Greek Orthodox Church.
