Ms. Betty Eleanor Trimble Swarbrick passed away on Friday, January 27, 2017 at Beebe Hospital in Lewes, Delaware.  She was 74 years old.

She is survived by her four children : Timothy of Raleigh, NC, Mark and Chris of Milton, DE and Mary Beth Gonce of Newark.  Betty has 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.  Also survived by her brother, Roger Trimble of PA.  She was predeceased by her siblings Ray, Clara, Edward & Russell Trimble.

Betty grew up on Snuff Mill Rd in Yorklyn, DE and moved to Jamesburg, NJ with her mother to attend Jamesburg High School.  She settled in Newark, DE where she worked at Wrangler Wranch in Brookside Shopping Center, Sears Parts Department in Newport and Cheryl’s Sky Lounge and Flight Deck in New Castle.  During her residence in Brookside many of the kids in the neighborhood would visit often where they felt comfortable being a part of her welcoming family.  She will be remembered for her smile and laughter.

Visitation will be from 10:00AM until 12:00PM on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at the LONGWOOD FUNERAL HOME of MATTHEW GENEREUX, 913 East Baltimore Pike, Kennett Square, PA, where the funeral service will follow at 12:00PM.  She will be laid to rest in Union Hill Cemetery near her mother and father.

Flowers will be received or memorial donation may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude's Hospital for Children in Betty's memory.
