Robert Bruce Burnett

Robert Bruce Burnett passed away peacefully on Monday, May 21, 2018 at Twin Pines in West Grove, Pennsylvania.  He was 90 years old.  Born at home in Mendenhall, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Charles Burnett and the late Ruth North Burnett.

Robert worked for 35 years in the Assembly Supply Department at General Motors.  He later worked security at Longwood Gardens.  Robert belonged to the Mason-Dixon Dart League and enjoyed bowling.

He was the beloved husband for 65 years of the late Mary McDonaugh Burnett who passed away in 2015; father of Robert B. Burnett, Jr., James B. Burnett and his wife Susan and Dennis W. Burnett; grandfather of Dennis, Jr., Jenny, Paige, Brooks and Chester; great-grandfather of Adelaide Mary and Elva Ruth; brother of James Burnett.  He was predeceased by his siblings, Charles Burnett, Lane Burnett, Roy Burnett, Harold (Turk) Burnett, Anna McDowell, Thelma Sutter, Josephine Hutchinson, Alice Chiffons and Mary Cockerham.

The family would like to thank the staff of Twin Pines and Willow Tree Hospice for their kindness to Robert.

A funeral service will be at 10:30AM on Friday, May 25, 2018 at the LONGWOOD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION of MATTHEW GENEREUX, 913 East Baltimore Pike, Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.  Visitation will the family will be at the FUNERAL HOME from 9:30AM until 10:30AM.  Burial will follow the funeral service in Union Hill Cemetery in Kennett Square.
