Ann Wyllie Jarrett, a cherished mother, grandmother, artist, and community member, passed away on June 25, 2024, in Kennett Square, PA, at the age of 96.
Ann attended Colby-Sawyer College in New Hampshire. She began her professional career as a secretary at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she met her beloved husband, Howard Starke Jarrett. She began cultivating her profound love and passion for art in 1953 with her mentor, Ed Loper. Ann worked for UNICEF, dedicating herself to their mission. She was deeply committed to volunteer work, as an active member of the League of Women Voters and a prominent advocate for social justice. Her church was a second home to her, providing great joy and purpose as a devoted member. Ann had a zest for life and a passion for a variety of activities including painting, writing, skiing, swimming, volunteering, and most of all, traveling. Her tenacious spirit and adventurous nature were evident in everything she did. Ann had an unwavering positive outlook on life and was renowned for her ability to bring people together, fostering a sense of community wherever she went. Above all, she prioritized her family, who were her pride and joy. Born and raised in Arlington, Massachusetts, Ann was a devoted and loving mother.
She is survived by her three sons; William Howard Jarrett (Elaine) of Snowmass, CO, David Starke Jarrett (Kathie) of Rock Hall, MD, and Andrew Winthrop Jarrett (Kim) of Ellicott City, MD; her daughter, Sara Jane Jarrett of Aspen, CO; three grandchildren, Wyllie Burrows, Ashleigh Jarrett, and Conor Burrows.
A memorial service to celebrate Ann's life will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, July 8, 2024 at the Auditorium at Kendal at Longwood 1109 East Baltimore Pike, Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.
Her world of art revolved around color and light. Attendees are encouraged to wear colorful clothing to honor her vibrant spirit.

Ann's strong spirit, love for adventure, and deep commitment to her family will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
