Barbara Jean Schmidt of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania passed away on Monday, July 27, 2026. She was 83 years old. Born in Great Neck, Nassau County, New York, she was the daughter of the late Edwin Harper and the late Josephine Podstupka Harper.
She was the beloved wife of the late Peter Schmidt; mother of Scott Schmidt (Carmen) and Natalie DiGuglielmo (Michael); grandmother of Sara Kuntz, Scott Schmidt, Julie Neilson, Emily Manske, Anna Schmidt and Tyler Poliski.
A memorial service will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at the LONGWOOD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION of MATTHEW GENEREUX, 913 East Baltimore Pike, Kennett Square.
Burial will be private.
