Brent Jeffrey Rakus, age 40, of West Grove, PA went home to be with our Lord on Friday, October 23, 2020. Brent was born on October 20, 1980 in Chester, Pennsylvania to parents Louis & Nancy Rakus of West Grove, Pennsylvania. He is survived by his parents, Louis & Nancy Rakus; brother, Christopher Rakus & wife, Jennifer Rakus; sister, Julianne Caputo & husband, John Caputo; daughters, Victoria Rakus & Alexa Rakus; and any many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Brent was a life-long resident of Chester County, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Avon Grove High School in 1999 and received his Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree from West Chester University in 2011 (winning the senior art competition).
Brent loved the Lord and shared his faith with many friends and family. He was a great listener with a magnetic personality. He was thoughtful, generous, and caring to all.
Brent was a well-known local artist. He specialized in custom metal artwork, canvas and plexi-acrylic art, abstract art, whimsical garden art, and graphics.
Brent loved to go fishing (especially surf-fishing). He was an avid gardener and excellent chef. He prepared many dishes for friends and family. His specialties were homemade soups, stews, and appetizers. Brent loved music – playing guitar, drums, and singing. In his younger years, Brent enjoyed playing football and baseball.
Brent traveled to all corners of the world – England, France, Greece, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, the Caribbean, Bermuda, Canada, & the United States.
Some highlights were reaching the top of the Haleakalā volcano on Maui; visiting the tidal island Le Mont-Saint-Michel in Normandy, France; attending church services at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris; exploring the ancient city of Athens including the Acropolis; visiting Mykonos Island and walking the caves of Patmos, Greece, where the apostle John was said to have written the Book of Revelations.
He will be truly missed by his family and friends all over the world. Brent will also be missed by his loyal dachshund Dillinger (Dilli).
