Carol Ann Birthright died on April 7, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 83 years young and was loved by all who had the pleasure of meeting her. She was a loved mother, grandmother, sister, and wife to her late husband Henry J. Birthright.
Carol was born in Springfield, Massachusetts. After marrying Henry J. Birthright, she raised her children in Pensacola, Florida where she spent several years as the Director of an after-school Y-Care program. She thoroughly enjoyed a life of giving by often using her own resources without hesitation to provide an more enriching environment for her students in her Y-Care program as well as donating to a wide variety of charities. She loved to spend time with her ballet, tap and bowling friends. She took up dancing as an adult. After a couple of years of sitting in the waiting room for her daughter to finish dance class, she found out there was a class just for adults and jumped right in! She went on to sparkle on stage for many years and had many performances with her peers including the annual Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival in Pensacola. She also enjoyed feeding the birds, singing along to her favorite musicians, and was thrilled each and every time she watched the Blue Angels fly.
Carol is survived by her son, Lupe Birthright and wife Kim Birthright; her daughter, Vicenta Montgomery and husband Eric Montgomery; her sister Gail Knoble; grandchildren Alex, Reef, Ethan, Madeline and niece Cheri Koller and husband Mike Koller.
There will be a gathering in Pensacola to celebrate her life with a date yet to be determined and details will be provided as they become available. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Carol’s name to any of the many charities she regularly donated to herself such as ASCPA, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Wounded Warrior Project, and Eagles Autism Challenge.
