Catherine Hardin Sanders, of Landenberg, Pennsylvania passed away on March 11, 2025, at the age of 69. Born on January 11, 1956 in Wilmington, DE, Catherine was the beloved daughter of David B. Hardin and Margaret S. Hardin. She was a loving wife to Michael Sanders, a cherished mother to Dave and Brian, and a doting grandmother to Audrey and Chloe and also survived by her dear siblings, David and Karen.

Catherine lived a life filled with love, kindness, and compassion. Known for her warm smile, enjoying time and laughs with family and friends, she brought joy to everyone who knew her. Throughout her life, Catherine was a pillar of strength supporting those around her with unwavering care and devotion.

Catherine's life was enriched by her family, her many friends, and her diverse interests. She found joy in painting, puzzles, and peaceful walks on the beach. A lifelong animal lover, she held a special place in her heart for her black Labrador Retrievers and dedicated her time to volunteering with Tri-State Bird Rescue and various horse charities. She also enjoyed traveling and discovering new places. Catherine was deeply involved in her communities, both at home and on vacation, including Hockessin United Methodist Church, Grace United Methodist Church, and PEO. Her legacy will be remembered by all who had the privilege of experiencing her warmth, love, and friendship.

Special thanks to the caregivers, doctors, specialists, friend and family that helped her try to overcome her health challenges.

A viewing will be from 1:30PM to 2:00PM on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at the LONGWOOD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION of MATTHEW GENEREUX, 913 East Baltimore Pike, Kennett Square, PA 19348.  A graveside service will follow at 2:30PM on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at the at SILVERBROOK CEMETERY, 3300 Lancaster Pike, Wilmington, DE 19805.  If you are attending Cathy's services, consider wearing blue colored clothing, Cathy's favorite.  And gentleman......forgo wearing a necktie!

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tri-State Bird Rescue or Reins of Life Charity.

Catherine’s family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.
