Charles A. Nigro, Jr.

Charles A. Nigro, Jr. of Avondale, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 16, 2019 surrounded by his family.  He was 83 years old. 

Born in West Grove, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Charles Anthony Nigro, Sr. and the late Caroline Curzi Nigro.

He was the husband for 60 years of Jeanette DiProspero Nigro; father of Vincent Nigro; pop-pop of Michelle Mendenhall, Allyson Piazza and Vincent Nigro; great-grandfather of Jemma Mendenhall and Lorenzo Piazza; brother of Loretta Stanton and the late Joseph Nigro.

Charlie was a member of Assumption BVM Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.  Trained in the trade as a plumber, Charlie was a mushroom grower and owned Londonderry Mushrooms and S & N Auto Sales.  He honorable served the country in the US Army Reserves. 

A viewing will be on Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 11:00AM until 12:30PM with a Funeral Mass at 12:30PM at Assumption BVM Catholic Church, 300 State Road, West Grove, Pennsylvania.  Burial will follow the Funeral Mass in St. Patrick Cemetery, Kennett Square.
