Charles “Ted” E. Chism of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania passed away on November 27, 2025 after a long illness.  He was 76 years old.

Born in Chester, Delaware County, Pennsylvania on December 6, 1948, he was the son of the late Charles  E. Chism and the late Eleanore Subers Chism. 

Ted attended St. Roberts Grade School and graduated from St. James High School in 1966.  He enlisted and served in the United States Army as a Military Policeman during the Vietnam War.  Following his honorable discharge from serving his Country, Ted began working at United Engineers in Philadelphia and then in sales at his grandfather’s business, S&S Home Improvements.   He retired in 2015 after 30 years of service.  Ted liked Philly sports, “oldies music”, casino slots, traveling, bowling, eating crabs at the Eastern Shore, fine dining, softball league play, vacations in Ocean City, MD with friends, Irene, Joe and Kathy and his lunches with his brothers, Tim & Tom (twin brothers) and cousin, Harry and friends.

He was the beloved husband of Bonita “Bonnie” Blumenkrantz Chism for 51 years; brother of Tim Chism (Terry) and Tom Chism; uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Per Ted’s wishes, his Mass and burial will be private.  The family asks that no flowers be sent.  Please consider a memorial donation in Charles “Ted” E.
