Craig Steven Schlott

Obituary

Craig Steven Schlott, age 78, passed away on June 2, 2025 in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.  Craig was born in Woodbury, New Jersey and moved to Wilmington, Delaware when he was young.

Craig was a 1965 graduate of Brandywine High School, and then served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War on the USS Providence from 1966-1969.  After the Navy, he worked as the manager at Pappy's Pizza in Wilmington, where he met (and fell head over heels for) his wife, Sherry, and they married in 1973.  In 1972, Craig purchased a Maaco franchise in Wilmington, which he proudly ran until he retired in 2017.  Craig made friends wherever he went, whether through his business or as a member of Brandywine Country Club, where he loved to golf.  After retirement, Craig loved to spend time with his granddaughters  and watch The Golf Channel with his loyal cat, Maacy.

Craig was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry, his daughter, Kelly Therese Schlott, his mother, Beatrice Quillen, and his father, Walter Schlott.  He is survived by his daughter, Shannon Therese Somma and her husband Peter, and his beloved granddaughters, Kelly Maureen Therese and McKenzie Grace.  He is also survived by his siblings, David Schlott (Barbara) and Carleen Vantine (Dave).
