Curtis Charles Crossman of West Grove, Pennsylvania passed away at home after a brief illness on June 30, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was 75 years old.
Curt was born in Cambridge, Maryland and was the son of the late Al Crossman and the late Eva (Chapas) Crossman. He was raised in Unionville and was a 1968 graduate of Unionville High School. Curt started working at a young age with his father in the horse industry in Unionville. He was an avid horseman and rose to prominence as Head Huntsman for the Cheshire Hunt Club in Unionville. Curt also rode in several Point to Point/Steeplechase races in the area including Radnor, Rose Tree, and Unionville meets. He won several races on a horse called “Danny’s Brother”. He was well known in the horse business for his love and passion of the sport. After retiring from riding, Curt loved to follow the hunt. In recent years, you could always see Curt on any given day following the hunt in pursuit of that illusive fox. He loved to play softball well into his 60’s and gave those young bucks a run for their money. He was also an avid Phillies and Eagles fan.
Curt is survived by two children, Justin Crossman and Eva Crossman Frausto (Armando); 4 grandchildren, Atlan, Amelia and Levi Crossman and Aurelio Frausto.
Curt is also survived by 7 siblings – Dan (Niamh), Jane Backenstose (Charles), Janice McLaughlin, John, Paula Pennington, Mike (Kim) and Ginny Bellistri (Jerry) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10:00AM until 11:00AM with a memorial service at 11:00AM on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at the LONGWOOD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION of MATTHEW GENEREUX, 913 East Baltimore Pike, Kennett Square. Burial will be private.
