Dante "Don" Rinaldo Abbondi was born on June 18, 1941 and passed away on December 21, 2020 at The University of Pennsylvania Hospital. Dante underwent and endured multiple procedures, bravely battling mesothelioma and succumbing to cardiac arrest, post surgery.
Born in Wilmington, Delaware, Don was the son of Clement A. Abbondi and Florence E. DiBenedetto Abbondi.
Don is survived by his wife of 51 years, Darlene (Teddi) Abbondi of Lincoln Uniniversity, Pennsylvania; his son Daniel Abbondi of Gladwyne, Pennsylvania and his sister, Diana Tatman of Kennett Square. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and cherished friends.
Don served in the United States Army as a wireman and served one tour of duty in Vietnam with the Air Calvary as a door gunner. He was a business owner, operator and a skilled tradesman. He retired in early 2000. He enjoyed vacations with friends, collecting modern and antique firearms, gunsmithing and competitive long-range shooting.
Don was a loved and loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed.
Services and burial will be private.
