David John Wisniewski

David John Wisniewski of West Grove, Pennsylvania passed on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at home after a lengthy illness.  He was 72 years old. 

Born, raised and educated in Erie County, Pennsylvania, David was the son of John Wisniewski and Irene Hrinda Wisniewski.  He graduated from McDowell High School and completed two years of college in Erie.  He moved to Kennett Square, PA in the 1970’s.  David and Karen were married in 1980 and later moved to West Grove, PA.  Dave worked for Wm. P. McGovern Inc. prior to being employed by General Motors in Wilmington, DE where he retired after 25 years.  In his earlier years, Dave enjoyed bowling in various leagues, playing golf, competing in the Mason Dixon dart league, and playing on a softball team. He also enjoyed growing his vegetable garden for many years.  Watching sports, especially baseball and football was a favorite pastime.  He was a true Phillies and Eagles fan, especially when he gathered with family and friends to watch together.

Dave is survived by his wife of 44 years, Karen Wisniewski (nee Sexton); his daughter, Danielle Wisniewski (Chris Edwards); his son, David Justin Wisniewski (Samantha Wisniewski) and two beloved grandchildren, Nolan and Lily Wisniewski.  In addition, he is survived by his mother, Irene Wisniewski; his brother, James Wisniewski (Sally Wisniewski); sisters-in-law, Patricia Reiter and Donna Abel (John Abel);  nieces, Lynne Truby (Jay), Maggie Jaraczewski ( Joe ); nephew, Jimmy Wisniewski (Alyssa).  Dave was also blessed with loving great nieces and great nephews.  He was predeceased by his father, John Wisniewski and his brother- in- law, Bill Reiter.   

Visitation with the family will be from 2:00PM until 3:00PM with a funeral service at 3:00PM on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at the LONGWOOD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION of MATTHEW GENEREUX, 913 East Baltimore Pike, Kennett Square.  Burial will be private.
