David Frank Kraynie

David Frank Kraynie of Chadds Ford, Chester County, Pennsylvania passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024.  He was 59 years old.

Born in Rochester, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Glenn Kraynie and the late Lisabeth Kensley Kraynie.

Dave was the beloved husband of Cindy Kraynie (nee Thorn); father of Erin Kraynie and Sarah Kraynie; brother of Linda Disalle (Upper St Clair, PA), Glenn Kraynie Jr. (Mt Gilead, NC) and Barbara Kraynie (Beaver, PA).  

Dave was a kind and loving father who dedicated much of his time to his two daughters and his wife. He constantly supported his daughters's interests and encouraged them to be the best versions of themselves.  

He was a strong musician who was accomplished on a variety of instruments including the tuba, bass guitar, piano, and bagpipes. Dave also spent many years supporting the Kennett High School Marching Band and the musical endeavors of his children.  

After earning a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, Dave earned his PhD from Purdue University. Dave pursued a career in chemical engineering and was a dedicated employee of the DuPont Company since 1987.

A viewing will be from 3:00PM until 5:00PM & from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Friday, May 17, 2024.  Also, a viewing will be from 11:00AM until 12:00PM with a funeral home service at 12:00PM on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at the LONGWOOD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION of MATTHEW GENEREUX, 913 East Baltimore Pike, Kennett Square, Chester County, Pennsylvania.

Burial will be private.
