Dominic H. Tavoni, III

Dominic H. Tavoni III, age 72, passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2023 at Christiana Hospital after losing his battle with cancer.  Born in Wilmington, Delaware he was the son of Dominic H. Tavoni Jr. and the late Concetta (Dolly) Tavoni (DiGiacomo).

Dominic graduated from Kennett Consolidated High School and attended Penn State University.  After attending college he served our country in the U. S. Coast Guard of which he was very proud of.  He was a member of the American Legion William F. Fahey Post 491, The Italian American Citizens League, and the Spirit of Aviation.  Dominic was employed at Letty’s Tavern where he was endeared by those he worked with.  Dominic had a passion for gardening, and planted a garden wherever he went.  He was always learning and researching information. 

In addition to his father, Dominic is survived by his brothers, David Tavoni of Oxford, PA, Andrew Tavoni of Los Angles; CA, Gifford Tavoni (Erica) of East Earl, PA and sister, Connie Dilley (Joe) of Kennett Square.  He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Rachel Hillworth, Danielle Porto, Alexandria Fonda, Samantha Tavoni, Christopher Tavoni, Joe Dilley Jr., and Allison Tuscano.

He was preceded in death by one brother Richard Tavoni; step-mother Leslie Tavoni; niece, Adrianne Dilley and nephew, Matt Dilley. 

A graveside service with honors will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at UNION HILL CEMETERY, 424 N. Union St., Kennett Square, PA 19348.
