Edith “Edie” Biondi Losito, of Toughkenamon, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. She was 93 years old. Born at home in Avondale, Pennsylvania, she was the youngest child of the late John Biondi and the late Marie Bucci Biondi.
Edie’s life was centered around her family, who were truly her whole world. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love was constant, generous, and deeply felt. Nothing brought her more joy than having her family together.
She was the beloved wife of Charles Losito for 74 years. Their love story began when they were just teenagers — Kennett High School sweethearts. After Charles sent her a Valentine’s card, the rest was history, and they built a beautiful life together grounded in love and commitment.
A devout Catholic, Edie lived her faith through kindness, humility, and compassion toward others. She was known for her gentle spirit and gracious heart, always speaking kindly of others and choosing to see the good in everyone. Her warmth and generosity of spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Edie expressed her love through tradition and togetherness. She was especially known for her Sunday spaghetti lunches and treasured gatherings like the Biondi family picnics, where lasting memories were made.
She was the loving mother of Charles “Chucky” and Nancy Losito, Joanie Losito, Kathie Losito, and Linda and Arthur “Puddin” Dowdy; cherished grandmother of Leanne, Kim, Jackie, Chazz, Artie, Karley and Kasey; and proud great-grandmother of 12.
In addition to her parents, Edie was predeceased by her 7 siblings - Paul, Joe, John, Freddy Biondi, Margaret Malchione, Mary Mastrippolito, and Theresa Caligiuri.
All are welcome to attend a Funeral Mass celebrating Edie’s life at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 9, 2026, at St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church, 8910 Gap Newport Pike, Avondale. There will be no viewing or visitation prior to the Mass. Burial will be private at St. Patrick Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Edie’s name may be made to St. Gabriel Church.
