Edward Kanicki Obituary

Edward A. Kanicki of New Castle, Delaware passed away at his home on Saturday, October 27, 2018.  He was 90 years old.

Born in Wilmington, Delaware, he was the son of the late Frank Kanicki and the late Mary Pociask Kanicki.

He was the beloved husband for 55 years of Joan H. Kanicki, {nee. Baffone} and cherished father of Karen Yanick and her husband Donald; grandfather of Brittany, Sydney and Nathan Yanick; brother of Mary Johnson.  He was predeceased by his siblings, Dorothy Sobocinski, Jeanette Hettel, Wanda Kanicki and Joseph Kanicki.

Ed served our country in the United States Army as part of the "greatest generation" during World War II.  After the War, he became a tradesman and was a member of Pipefitters Local 80 for more than 40 years as he cared for his family.  He enjoyed fishing and golfing throughout his life.  He was always seen cheering on his grandchildren at every recital and sporting event, this was a love for him and he never missed an event or a game.  Ed was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.
