Edward B. Walton

Edward B. Walton of Avondale, Pennsylvania passed away at his home on Sunday, March 27, 2022.  He was 86 years old.  Born in West Chester, Pennsylvania on March 28, 1935, he was the son of the late Herbert B. Walton and the late Mary McCombs.

Raised in the Village of London Grove, Eddie attended London Grove Friends First Day School and was a graduate of Unionville H.S., class of 1953.  He worked on the family farm before beginning a 40 year career at Longwood Gardens as a Section Grounds Keeper.  Eddie was a lifetime member of the Longwood Fire Company, where he served on the Board as Financial Secretary and Delegate.  He coached baseball and basketball for URA in the early years of the organization, was active in the Unionville Community Fair and a member of Unionville Presbyterian Church, serving on the Board of Trustees and helped in maintaining the grounds.  Eddie enjoyed sports, especially Penn State and the Eagles.  He loved growing his garden and sharing with all his friends his crops, especially the pumpkins.

He was the beloved husband of Jackie Warrick Walton for 62 years; father of Sherri Foster (Phil), Suzanne Testa (Robert) and Kathleen Walton-Laviani; grandfather of Tara Homer (Kevin), Tracy Walton (fiancé, Jim Suderley), Zach Walton, 1st Lt. Matthew Foster, Mackenzie Foster, Michael Testa, Dominic Testa, Kristina Testa, Garrett Ockun, Bennett Elizabeth Ockun and Louis Walton Laviani; great grandfather of Landon; brother of Peg Ogurcak (Tom).  Also survivied by many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his son, Steven Edward Walton.

Visitation with the family will be from 10:00AM until 12:00PM with at funeral service at 12:00PM on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at the LONGWOOD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION of MATTHEW GENEREUX, 913 East Baltimore Pike, Kennett Square.  Burial will follow in London Grove Burial Grounds.
