Elwood "Woody" Snyder, II

Elwood “Woody” F. Snyder, II of Kennett Square, Chester County, Pennsylvania passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at the Hickman Friends Senior Community.  He was 79 years old.

Born in Allentown, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Elwood F. Snyder and the late Mary-Alice Gensemer Snyder. 

Woody was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and uncle to his family.  He enjoyed sailing and racing sailboats, playing golf, tennis, and music.  He worked as Systems Engineer for IBM for 36 years and volunteered as a Disc Jockey for University of  Delaware radio.  Music was a constant in Woody’s life and he played Mandolin and enjoyed jamming with other musicians. 

He was the beloved husband of Patricia Zawilla Snyder for 22 years; father of Christopher Snyder (Suzanne), grandfather of Matthew, Annie and Samuel; brother of Nancy Snyder and Elizabeth Jason. 

A memorial service will be at 2:00PM on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Willowdale Chapel (small chapel), 675 Unionville Road, Kennett Square.  Visitation with the family and refreshments will follow the service.
