It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Emily Jean Talbott of Kennett Square, PA on May 15, 2025 at the age of 100.
Jean was born on October 31, 1924 in Evanston, IL to Emma and Rinaldo Cober.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her ex-husband, Prescott Crane and siblings, William Cober, Patrcia Ashbrook, Miriam Smith and grandson Bradley Johnson.
She is survived by her children, Laura Johnson, Susan Crane, Stephen Crane and his wife, Teresa along with grandchildren, Emily Johnson, Justin Crane, Ashley Crane, Marisa Crane and six great-grandchildren.
Jean was fortunate to celebrate her 100th birthday in 2024 with a wonderful party attended by her children and many nieces and nephews.
Jean was a proud graduate of Bucknell University and spent her professional career as a social worker. Jean enjoyed traveling, reading, and spending time with family. She was a talented artist painting landscapes and portraits of her grandchildren. Her recent years were spent living at Crosslands Community where she made many dear friends and was well cared for by the staff. She was loved by her family and the workers at Crosslands and will be missed.
