Fritz "Pete" E.A. Petroll, Jr. Obituary

Fritz E.A. "Pete" Petroll, Jr. of Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania passed away at his home on Tuesday, October 10, 2023.  He was 88 years old.

Born in Wilmington, Delaware, Pete was the son of Fritz Petroll and Anna Ogle Petroll.  He graduated from the Kennett High School, class of 1954 and then enlisted in United States Marine Corps where he honorably served our Country.  Following Pete's military service, he began his studies at Temple University in 1960, studying computer science.  Following his education, Pete was recruited by IBM, where he was a valued employee for more than 30 years.  Following retirement, Pete continued to work for IBM and State Farm in many customer relations assignments.  Pete was a member of Penn Oaks Golf Club for more than 40 years where he was an avid golfer of more than 6,000 rounds, a multiple hole-in-one winner and one who "shot his age" many times as he loved the game and shared this passion with his wife and sons.  Pete was honored in April 2023 by the Club where he made "the 1st shot of the year" on opening day.  He loved his yard and garden where he grew his tomatoes from seed for all to enjoy.  Pete will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was the beloved husband of Pat Petroll for 63 years; father of Peter Fritz Petroll, Paul Ernest Petroll and Philip David Petroll (Karin V. Petroll); grandfather of Lee Petroll and Brooke Petroll; brother of Walter O. Petroll.  In addition to his parents, Pete was predeceased by siblings, William Frederick Petroll, Ann P. Crowe-Gosner, Elsie Petroll Johnson, Margaret "Peg" Petroll Belt and Bertha Petroll Bowman.
