Gerald L. "Gerry" Ortega, age 68 of Lincoln University, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Gerry is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Roseanne Ortega; his son, Stephen (Missy) Ortega of Avondale; his daughter, Brittany Ortega Weiss (Colin) of Collegeville, Pennsylvania; his cherished grandchildren, Colby, Ethan, and Riley Ortega, and Rhett and Roland Weiss.

He is also survived by his brothers, George Ortega of Oxford, Ruben Ortega of Oxford, and Gary Ortega of Oxford; his sister, Charline Ortega of Ocean View, Delaware; and several nieces and nephews.

Gerry was preceded in death by his parents, George Sr. and Opal Ortega, and his sister, Carol Bove.

A 1976 graduate of Avon Grove High School, Gerry continued his education at Delaware Technical Community College in Georgetown, DE graduating in 1977.

Gerry dedicated 43 years to Agilent Technologies before retiring in 2022. In retirement and throughout his life, he found great joy riding his motorcycles, including two memorable cross-country trips to the West Coast with his riding buddies.

A generous volunteer, Gerry devoted countless hours to Canine Partners for Life, first helping to train service dog puppies and later serving as the harness technician.  Also providing therapy dog visits to Jenners Pond with his dog Lisl.   Above all else, Gerry treasured the time he spent with his family. Most weekends he could be found at the ice rink or laccrosse field watching his grandchildrens sporting events.  His love, kindness, and quiet dedication to those he cared about will be deeply missed.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Penn Medicine Hospice, especially Katherine, for their outstanding care, compassion, and support during Gerry's final days.

In accordance with Gerry's wishes, there will be no formal service.
