James R. Ironside

James Robert Ironside of Oxford, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully at home on November 8, 2025.  He was 87 years old.  Born on March 27, 1938 in Kennett Square, James was the son of the late Joseph Ironside and the late Emily Buffington Ironside.

Jim was the beloved husband of Ellen Leary Ironside for 56 years; father of Heather Ironside, Stephen Ironside, Daniel Ironside, Michael Ironside and Patricia Porter; grandfather of Arden Ironside, Brody Porter, Kasey Porter, Emily Ironside, Archer Ironside, Violet Ironside and Jesse Bradley; brother of Evelyn Schopfer and Emily Reynolds.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Margaret Holcomb, Joseph Ironside and Donald Ironside.

A viewing will be from 12:00PM until 1:00PM with a funeral service at 1:00PM on Friday, November 14, 2025 at the LONGWOOD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION of MATTHEW GENEREUX, 913 East Baltimore Pike, Kennett Square.  Burial will follow the funeral service in Oxford Cemetery.
