Janet M. McLaughlin

Janet M. McLaughlin of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania passed away on December 19, 2020.  She was 82 years old.  Born in Danville, PA, Janet was the daughter of the late Samuel R. Williams and Emma M. Williams.

She is preceded by Eugene, her beloved husband of 61 years.  She is survived by her brother Robert J. Williams (Vera); her children: Kathleen Swierczek (Karl), Eugene McLaughlin, Robert McLaughlin (Kathleen Subers) and Karen Serafino (Thomas Molchan); She was Mimom to Karl A. Swierczek (Jessica Jablonski), Kory R. Swierczek (Shannon Munsell), Ashley L. McLaughlin, Robert J. McLaughlin, Jr., Allison Lutte, Justine Firlein (Dylan Firlein), Scott Lutte, Jr., the late Matthew R. Serafino, Stephanie L. Serafino (Max Davidow) and Nicholas P. Serafino; great-Mimom of Jakob D. Swierczek, Joshua T. Swierczek, Harper M. Swierczek, Noah R. Swierczek, James Lutte, Weston Firlein, Sofia Firlein, Mila Firlein, Jason Firlein, and Ryder Lutte.

Janet graduated from Glen-Nor High School in Glenolden, in 1956.  Prior to raising her children, she worked for Penn Mutual Life Insurance company as a secretary.  A devoted Mom to her four children; she also provided foster care.  She was medical transcriptionist, and she also provided administrative duties for an oncologist and for Ridley High School Library.  

She was an avid reader, primarily of biographies, and was always well-informed and interested in discussing current events. She enjoyed investigating her ancestry and family history.  She will always be remembered for her loving kindness, her great concern and thoughtfulness for others, her strength, her wisdom, her encouraging words, and her love for her family.

Funeral services are private.
