Janet Lou Blevins James

Janet James passed away on March 31, 2023 at the HCA Fawcett Hospital in Port Charlotte, Florida.  She was 89 years old.  Janet was the daughter of B. Frank Blevins and Artie Stike Blevins. She was born on March 30, 1933 in West Chester, raised in Toughkenamon and Kennett Square, where she lived until moving to Wilmington, DE then Newark, DE and finally retiring in Florida.  Her passion was caring for the younger children having an in-home Day Care for a number years moving onto working for Edu-Care Preschool and Daycare.

She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur James, II; mother of Arthur James, III and his wife, Sandy and the late Edwin James and his wife, Nancy; grandmother of Jennifer Chalmers, Sarah James, Arthur James IV, Jeremy James, Christina Zapata, Benjamin James and Janet Everett; step grandmother of Christine Katz and Marybeth Paugh and great-grandmother of 21.

A viewing will be from 11:00AM until 12:00PM with a funeral service at 12:00PM on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at the LONGWOOD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION of MATTHEW GENEREUX, 913 East Baltimore Pike, Kennett Square.  Burial will follow in the Blevins Family Plot will be in Longwood Cemetery, 945 East Baltimore Pike, Kennett Square.
