Janet R. Gartner

Janet Ruth Gartner (née Lewis), age 86, of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully at home with her family close by on January 27, 2025. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of John Ralph Lewis, Sr. and Clara Agnes Hannah Winnemore Lewis. 

She is survived by her children, Melissa Dorfman (Adam) of West Chester, PA, Stephen Gartner (Sherri) of Paoli, PA, and Jessica Griffith (Matthew) of Holly Springs, NC. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Troy, Bryce, and Kyle Gartner, and Sophia and Ashley Griffith.

Janet is predeceased by her husband, Robert F. Gartner, as well as all nine of her siblings.

A viewing will be from 10:00AM until 10:30AM with a funeral service at 10:30AM on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at the LONGWOOD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION of MATTHEW GENEREUX, 913 East Baltimore Pike, Kennett Square.  Burial will follow the funeral service in Birmingham-Lafayette Cemetery, West Chester.
