**In Loving Memory of Janice L. Harman**
It is with both profound sadness and deep gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Janice Harman (nee Palo), who left this world on May 3, 2026 after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Jan was a beacon of warmth, devotion, and resilience, and her legacy will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She was 76 years old.
Born in Chester, Pennsylvania on May 26, 1949, Janice was the cherished daughter of Elmer and Gladys Palo. She was predeceased by her beloved parents and her dear sister, Judith Palo Rzeczkowski, all of whom she treasured and to whom she was deeply devoted.
Jan earned her bachelors in elementary education at Wesley College, and a masters in education at West Chester University. Her passion for teaching was evident in her many years of dedicated service at Norwood Elementary, where she taught first grade. Jan had a gift for making each child feel special and understood, fostering a love of learning and a sense of confidence in every student who passed through her classroom.
Beyond her professional achievements, Jan's greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted and loving wife to H. Lee Harman, with whom she shared a beautiful life filled with love, adventure, and travel. Together, they raised two children, D.L. Harman and C.L. Harman. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family to her nieces, Linda Hatcher and Juliet Green-Paz, and her nephew, Robert Rzeczkowski, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
The Harman family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers at Maris Grove, who supported Jan with compassion and kindness throughout her illness.
A private celebration of Jan’s life will be held on May 26, 2026.
