With a heavy heart we want to share the passing of Joanne Sharpless Cruse, 86.
Joanne was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great grandmother, wife, sister, and friend. Daughter of Alfred H. and Charlotte I. Sharpless, Joanne enjoyed many adventures in her life from Teacher to Real Estate Agent, however her true passion was Farming and love for the land. Very proud of her efforts to keep the family farm working as it has for well over 100 years, she would be found at the Unionville Community and Pennsylvania State Fairs with her blue ribbons from the crops that the farm produced. She was able to tend to the farm all the way to the end and would be found on either her mower or gator.
Joanne loved her family, heritage and time spent with all, always with a smile. Joanne was quite the jokester and loved to make people laugh. If you were able to share a part of life with Joanne, please feel fortunate, as she surely felt not only fortunate, but blessed for all the people who have been a part of her life.
Friends and family are invited to attend the viewing at 10:00 am. The memorial meeting for worship will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 8th, 2023, at London Grove Friends Meeting House, 500 West Street Road, Kennett Square, PA 19348, a place she holds dear to her heart. A graveside gathering at West Grove Friends will follow, where she will join her beloved Mother and Father. Following, everyone is invited to join the family for a light lunch and gathering to celebrate the Life of Joanne.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in Joanne's name to the Pennsylvania Friends of Agriculture Foundation. https://pfbfriends.com/
