Obituary

JOHN A. ARRELL, III

July 27, 1984 – August 1, 2023

John A. Arrell, III, age 39, of Wilmington, DE passed away suddenly on Tuesday, August 1, 2023.  Born in Wilmington, DE, he was the beloved son of John A. Arrell, Jr. and Tracey Travis Lee.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving stepparents, Patrice Camburn Arrell and Robert C. Lee.

John was a 2002 graduate of Avon Grove High School and also had attended West Chester University.

When young, John was a Boy Scout and played on the Avon Grove Wildcats football team.  At five years old, John started Kenpo Karate and at age 16, John achieved his Black Belt, which he was so proud of.  In high school, John was an avid athlete.  He played baseball, wrestled, and basketball.  John was chosen to be a player at The Baseball Factory in Baltimore – a premier team – where he was the fastest player on the team.

When John was a teenager, he enjoyed his church’s youth group and activities as well as giving his life to the Lord – he had many wonderful memories with them.

John had experience in many areas and various jobs including: serving at restaurants, electricity, carpentry, plumbing and HVAC.  In his last position, he was in logistics in warehousing and a real rising star at his job.

John’s greatest achievement and the apple of his eye was his six-year-old daughter Victoria Paje.  John beamed whenever he spoke about her.  John loved spending his time with her and they enjoyed many wonderful moments together. They especially loved going to the park and shopping at the craft store.

John loved spending time with his family.  He was especially fond of all his siblings and loved them dearly.  John was fun-loving, fun to be around, had a wonderful laugh and an infectious smile.  He loved to reminisce with family and quoting movie lines at just the right moments – cracking everybody up!

Some of John’s most memorable times were with his family. He loved going to the Boscov’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in Philadelphia yearly, Disney World and Ocean City, MD vacations with his dad’s family and just being on the family farm.

John also loved going to Sevierville, Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg, TN with his mom every year to see his Pop Pop. They had wonderful times and memories there.  John and his mom were two peas in a pod – enjoying sushi regularly at the age of 4, eating at restaurants, going to the movies and just having fun!

John was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Philadelphia Phillies and the Dallas Cowboys with his dad’s family.  John and his dad also had a passion for their yearly fantasy football team which they shared together.

In addition to his parents and step-parents, John is survived by his beloved daughter Victoria P. Arrell; seven siblings, Sean Arrell, Taylor Arrell, Ryan Arrell, Erik Lee, Sabrina Lee, Melissa Lee Thompson and Chelsea Lee; grandmothers, Earlene Travis and Edna T. Camburn; his girlfriend Kathryn Pajerowski and her children Layla and Sawyer Atkinson; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

John was predeceased by his grandparents; John T. Camburn Jr., Richard John Travis, Sarah Montgomery Arrell, John A. Arrell Sr.; and uncle Stephen W. Arrell.
