John Raymond Porter of Landenberg, Pennsylvania, born on October 23, 1966, passed away on March 5, 2025 after a long battle with cancer. He was a loving husband, brother, uncle and friend to many. He is survived by his wife, Janet Porter and her son, James Barker; mother, Lois Porter; six sisters: Terri, Lori, Linda, Leah, Rachael and Heidi; 8 nephews; aunts and uncles and numerous cousins.
John was preceded in death by his father, Claus Dieter Porter and brother, Aaron "Mick" Porter.
John served 4 years in the US Army as a Sergeant in the 101st Airborne Division and also served 2 years in the Reserves.
John was employed as a Teflon Technician at Edlon, Inc for 35 years. After his retirement, John loved his new career as driver to the Amish community of which many friends were made.
John's passions in life included hunting and fishing in Potter County. He also loved to cook and had a passion for gardening which he inherited from his father.
A memorial service will be at 11:00AM on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at the New London Baptist Church, 226 Pennock Bridge Rd, Kelton, PA 19346. Unites States Army honors and solitude bagpipes will conclude the services at the church.
