Joseph “Joe” Andrew Maurer was born on July 6, 1955 and passed away on October 15, 2021, surrounded by family.  Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Joe was the son of the late Andrew H. Maurer and Shirley Minton Maurer. 

Joe is survived by his former spouse, Christine M. Maurer of Kennett Square; 2 sons, Michael and his spouse Tobe of Landenberg and Matthew of Collegeville; 5 grandchildren, Hailey, Austin, Aubrey and Cole of Landenberg and Myles Robinson of Brooklyn, NY.  

Also survived by siblings, Jeannie Heitz (Chick) of Rising Sun, Maryland, Joanne Towber and Sandy Zistl of New Castle, DE, Martha Robinson (Harold) of Northeast, MD and Andrea Maurer of Tulsa, Oklahoma and a host of nieces and nephews. 

Joe coached little league baseball for KAU and was very involved with SCCSA travel program.  He was employed by Kennett Square Specialties for over 20 years retiring in May of 2018.

A viewing will be from 10:30AM until 12:30PM with a prayer service at 12:30PM on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at the LONGWOOD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION of MATTHEW GENEREUX, 913 East Baltimore Pike, Kennett Square.  Burial will private.
