Josephine Carr

Josephine "Josie/Marie" Carr, age 81, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2022, at her Twin Pines Health Care Center home in West Grove, Pennsylvania.

Born on January 4, 1941, in Linwood, Pennsylvania, Marie was the cherished daughter of the late Frances R.(Widhalm) and Joseph Frank Carr, who immigrated from Yugoslavia.  In 1958, after graduating from Notre Dame Catholic Girls High School in Moylan, Marie took her first job at Fidelity Bank in Philadelphia, working through various shifts in corporate ownership, including Wachovia and Wells Fargo Bank, until she retired after 47 years of loyal service.  Marie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling, researching the family tree, scrapbooking, keeping in touch with family, photography, playing bingo, and taking an occasional casino trip with friends and relatives.  Her compassion and lively spirit will be missed by all.

Marie is preceded in death by her sister, Joan Goldy Carr (Ralph) Schmidt.  She is survived by her sister, Frances Ann (Don) McCoy;  nephew, Anthony Lewis (Angela) Cywinsk, Jr.; nephew, Joseph Frank Cywinski, Sr., AnneMarrie Cywinski and grandnephew, Joseph Frank Cywinsk, Jr.; nieces, Karla Schmidt and Ingrid Schmidt (Frank) Charlton and grandnieces, Ava and Olivia Charlton, and many many cousins.  The family is deeply grateful to Twin Pines Health Care Center for providing Marie with loving care during the last two years of her life. 

Visitation will be from 6:00PM until 7:00PM on Monday, December 26, 2022 at the LONGWOOD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION of MATTHEW GENEREUX, 913 East Baltimore Pike, Kennett Square.  A Funeral Mass will be offered 10:00AM on Tuesday, December 27, 10AM at St. Patrick Church, 212 Meredith Street, Kennett Square.

Burial will be private in Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery, Boothwyn.
