Obituary

Leonard Kenneth Wysocki, age 83, of Lewes, Delaware, passed away September 26, 2024 at Wilmington Hospital.

Born in Plains, Pennsylvania on July 3, 1941, Leonard was the son of the late Alex Wysocki and Nell Ezbicki Wysocki.  Leonard was a veteran of the United States Air Force.  He owned a restaurant for four years but spent most of his career in the furniture business, managing a furniture store in Philadelphia and then as the furniture representative for World Imports.  He was a member of the American Legion and Amvets.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 59 years, Sandie Wysocki; his children, Leonard Wysocki (Katie), Janeen Mitchell (Thomas), Keye Wysocki (Deborah) and Anthony and Kathy Calise; grandchildren, Madeline Mitchell Hill (Devin), Patience Mitchell Mabin (Nick), Cassidy Mitchell, (Matthew Alleva), Jake, Gavin, Anna and Leo Wysocki, Rocco Calise and Gianna Calise; great grandchildren, Mitchell and Maverick Hill and Russell and Nicolette Mabin; brother, Al Wysocki; sister, MaryJo Marek; brothers-in-law, Raymond Marek, Norman Hicks, Ronald Ferretti and Ray Spence; sisters-in-law, Gina Ferretti and Diane Ferretti. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ann Marie Hicks and sister-in-law, Gwen Wysocki.

Lenny loved his family above all else.  He cherished family gatherings and time with all those he loved.  He loved to sit and eat crabs for hours and loved having his family with him to eat them.  He also loved riding around on his Pontoon Boat in Herring Creek, but never caught a fish.  His favorite place to travel was Clearwater, FL where he would see the Phillies at spring training.  He was an avid Phillies Fan.  His favorite evening out with his wife was going to the Amvets to play hot shots.  When he was home he was always in the garden and mowing the lawn, two of his other favorite pastimes.

Later in life he found out he had a talent for bottle cap art and created beautiful pictures with bottle caps which he sold at various craft fairs in the Lewes, Delaware area.

Lenny will be truly missed by his family and friends and all those who knew him.
