Linda Pinto, formerly of Havertown, PA passed away peacefully on July 12, 2026, in Lewes, Delaware. She was 81 years old.

Linda was born in Philadelphia, PA on March 24, 1945. She grew up in South Philadelphia and was a proud graduate of Southern High School in South Philadelphia. She was a member of the dance team for her high school. Linda loved her South Philadelphia roots.

In February 1965, Linda married her husband, Angela A. Pinto, her high school sweetheart. After settling in Havertown, PA with Angelo, Linda raised her three children, Carolyn, Angela and Michael. Motherhood meant the world to her. She loved her children deeply and selflessly and ensured that they had every opportunity to succeed in life. A hug and a kiss from her were all the soothing you needed to feel better. She loved to cook and provide for her family.  

Linda also believed in giving back to her community. While supporting her daughters’ Girl Scout activities, she served as the Girl Scout Service Unit Cookie Manager. She devoted countless hours organizing and managing the annual cookie program, helping make the experience a success for girls and troop leaders throughout the community.

In 1984, Linda embarked on a new chapter in her life by returning to school to fulfill a lifelong dream. She earned her associate’s degree from Delaware County Community College. At the age of 50, she graduated from Thomas Jefferson University in 1995 with a bachelor’s degree in laboratory sciences. Linda worked at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital as a medical technologist in the blood bank for over 20 years before retiring in 2013.

Linda (Mom-Mom) cherished her grandchildren and they were her world. She loved them with all her heart and soul. For over 15 years, she provided childcare to her older grandchildren, Brett and Bella. The memories she created for them were priceless.

            Linda loved all the beauty the world offered. She loved sparkle, glitter and color as evidenced by her make-up and perfume. Gardening and flowers brought her immense joy. She loved music, especially Earth, Wind and Fire. Meeting the band was priceless to her. Linda loved to dance and “shake a tail feather” especially at her children’s weddings. Her compassion also shined in her love of cats. Her cats, Pookie and Precious were her furbabies.

Linda was the heart of the family. She is survived by her children, Carolyn Horiel, Angela Ross (Matthew) and Michael Pinto (Rebekah) and her grandchildren, Brett, Bella, Michael Jr., Katie, Jessica, Olivia, Evelynne and Joshua. She was predeceased by her husband, Angelo Pinto, her parents, McKinley Lockey and Olga Lockey (Lapteff) and her son-in-law, Thomas Horiel, Jr.

Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find comfort in the joyful memories Linda leaves behind. Her love and wisdom will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered, our Mommy and Mom-Mom.

Family and friends are welcome to gather at the LONGWOOD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION of MATTHEW GENEREUX, 913 East Baltimore Pike, Kennett Square in remembrance of Linda on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. with a Catholic Prayer Service at 10:30 am.  Burial will follow at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery.

To celebrate Linda’s love for sparkle and her fun spirit, the family kindly invites those attending to wear cheerful colors rather than traditional black attire.
