Lorraine M. Norris Obituary
Lorraine Fratrik Norris
April 13, 1947 – May 16, 2026
Lorraine Fratrik Norris, age 79, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Pocopson Home in West Chester, Pennsylvania.
Born in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, Lorraine was the daughter of the late Adam Fratrik and the late Anna Suder Fratrik. She was a graduate of Central Bucks High School, Class of 1965.
On June 1, 1968, she married the love of her life, John W. Norris. They shared 37 wonderful years of marriage until his passing.
Lorraine made her home over the years in Bedminster, Galeton, and Kennett Square, places she loved dearly and where she built lasting friendships and memories. She worked hard throughout her life and held many jobs over the years, but the job she treasured most was caring for the five children of Nick and Linda Farrell of West Chester. As their nanny, Lorraine gave endless love, guidance, and devotion, and she considered the family a very special part of her life.
Lorraine’s greatest joy in life was her family. She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Augustine (Dan) of Kennett Square, PA and Lorrie Hurd (Ben) of Grove City, OH. She was a proud and loving grandmother to DJ (Leigh), Emily, Luke, John, and Benny, who were truly the pride and joy of her life.
She is also survived by her siblings, Carol Mellen (Gillis) of Flemington, NJ, Andrew Fratrik of Pipersville, PA, and Fran Vasey of New Britain, PA; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members, and many cherished friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Lorraine was preceded in death by her brothers, Gerald Fratrik and Joseph Fratrik.
Lorraine will be remembered for her deep Catholic faith, her love of family, her endless energy, and the outdoors. She loved spending time in Potter County with family/friends, cheering on “her boys” (the Dallas Cowboys) every Sunday, baking what many considered the best apple pie, picking flowers, dancing, and sending thoughtful greeting cards/messages to those she loved. Her warmth, kindness, and caring spirit touched countless lives and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Visitation with the family will be from 9:30AM until 10:30AM with a Funeral Mass at 10:30AM on Friday, June 12, 2026 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, 235 E. State Street, Doylestown, PA 18901. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Lorraine’s memory to the Pocopson Home, 1695 Lenape Road, West Chester, PA 19382
