Obituary

Margaret "Peg" Swisher Spahn, age 90, of Kennett Square, entered into rest on July 22, 2023 after a long battle with cancer.

She was the wife of the late Edward "Ted" Spahn Sr, with whom she shared 55 years of marriage before his passing in 2008.

Born in West Grove, PA , she was the daughter of the late William and Helen Swisher.

She was employed by National Bank and Trust Co. of Kennett Square, retiring after 38 years of service.  After her retirement, she went on to volunteer at the Kennett Square Food cupboard for 18 years.  Peg was also a long time member of Avondale Presbyterian Church and Kennett Fire Company.

She is survived by her son, Edward L Spahn, Jr (Barb); sisters, Shirley Rosazza and Dot Ditlzer; brother, Bill Swisher; grandchildren, Christina Donohue, Lee Donohue (Becky); Great-Grandchildren, Makayla, Alex and Julian.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Susan E. Spahn.

A viewing will be held at Longwood Funeral Home & Cremation of Matthew Genereux on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 from 10:00AM until 11:00AM, followed by her service at 11:00AM.  Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, a contribution in Peg’s memory may be made to Avondale Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 446
