Margene N. Sorzano passed away peacefully on March 31, 2025, at the age of 81. She was born on March 9, 1944, to Alexander and Sylvia Naumowich. She loved to talk to people, loved to laugh, and most of all, her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Margene grew up in Ridley, PA. Margene was a Brownie, Girl Scout, played piano for the choir, and the Christian Endeavor group. Margene graduated from Grove City College. She went on to receive her Master’s from the University of Pennsylvania. Margene was married to Carl Sorzano for over 50 years. She began her career as an English teacher. When she and Carl moved to Kennett Square, she embarked on a new career as a sales associate for Asher Chocolates. She went on to become one of the top sales representatives for Asher’s Chocolates. Margene loved to read, host parties, and serve at her local church. She sang in the choir, played in the handbell choir, and taught Sunday school for many years. Margene dedicated her life to helping people grow in their Christian walk.
Margene is survived by her children, Laurie Evangelista and Jeremy Sorzano (Lisa). Her grandchildren, Katherine (Cory) Walton, Rachel Evangelista, Lucas Evangelista, Alexandria Evangelista, Maya Evangelista, Juliet Evangelista, Michael Evangelista, Timothy Evangelista, Olive Sorzano, and Gus Sorzano. Her brother James (Deryl) Naumowich. Margene is preceded in death by Carl Sorzano, whom she loved deeply and was ready to go home to be with him.
A memorial service will be at 10:00AM on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Kennett Square Presbyterian Church, 211 S. Broad Street, Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.
