With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Mary Jane “Nanny” Fecondo, born September 24, 1930, who peacefully departed on July 13, 2025.
Mary Jane was born and raised in West Chester, Pennsylvania. At the lively Tick Tock nightclub in downtown Toughkenamon, she met the love of her life, the famed “Catch of Avondale,” Guido. Their enduring love story blossomed into a joyful and devoted marriage, and together they raised two children, Patricia and Joseph.
In her later years, Mary Jane made her home in Landenberg with her daughter Trish and son-in-law Art, surrounded by the comfort of family. Her bond with her grandchildren, Alison (Jon) and Adam, was exceptional, and she delighted in spending time with her great-grandchildren, Chase, Madison, and Ava, who always brought her joy and laughter.
A loyal Phillies fan to the end, Mary Jane never missed a chance to cheer them on, or to exclaim with loving frustration, “What is wrong with them?” Her affection extended to her beloved dogs, Luca and Stella. Luca will especially miss eating his breakfast cereal and enjoying his nightly homemade meals made with care.
Mary Jane was truly a force. Vibrant, outspoken, and full of life, her strength and spirit lit up every room. Her honesty, quick wit, and generous heart left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her. She didn’t just speak her mind, she inspired us to live boldly, love deeply, and carry ourselves with grace.
She now reunites in heaven with her cherished husband of 65 years, Guido, in eternal peace. Their love remains a testament to unwavering devotion, and it brings comfort to know they are together once again.
Her love for family guided her every step and continues to shine through each life she touched. We will forever miss her stories, her laughter, and the remarkable way she made everyone feel like they belonged simply by being near.
Service details will be shared soon for those who wish to celebrate her life alongside us. We welcome your memories of Mary Jane. They are the golden threads in the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.
Rest well, Nanny. Your spirit lives on in every heart you held close.
