Myra A. Leo, age 82, of Marmora, New Jersey passed away May 25, 2021.
Myra was born in Newburgh, New York October 30, 1938. She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Myra Brubaker. She was raised in Carneys Point, New Jersey. She graduated from Ursuline Academy High School and Goldey-Beacom College.
Myra was the wife of Joseph D. Leo for 53 years. Joseph “Pooky” Leo passed away May 20, 2010. They were members of Saint Maximilian Kolbe Parish in Marmora, N.J.
Myra's greatest joys were her daughter, Lynn Ann Leo, who was loved and cared for by many and died at just nine years of age, and her son, Joseph C. Leo (Joey), who passed May 8, 2015.
Myra worked for Hewlett Packard Company for 32 years, retiring to Marmora, New Jersey. She had many great fishing years at the 14th street fishing club in Ocean City, N.J. Myra was an avid tennis player, enjoyed visiting the boardwalk at Ocean City, N.J., and loved Atlantic City and Elvis. She wrote two books, The Silent Years (2006) and Joey (2018), that honor the love for her children and their time together.
Myra is survived by her niece, Sherry Ging and husband, Mike of Charleston, SC.; her great niece, Abby Rorie and husband, Freeman of Charleston, SC.; great nephews, Michael of Orlando, FL., and Patrick Ging of Summerville, SC.; her grandchildren, Brianna of Sarasota, FL., and Krista Leo of Englewood, Fl.; Fallon Manchin and husband, Jonathan of West Chester, PA.; and Devon Jordan of Oxford, PA.; and her close family friend, Debra Jordan of West Grove, PA.
Visitation will be from 1:00PM until 2:00PM with a Catholic prayer service at 2:00PM on Friday June 4, 2021 at the Longwood Funeral Home & Cremation of Matthew Genereux, 913 East Baltimore Pike, Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.
