Nancy Jane Chalfant

Nancy Jane Chalfant of Newark, Delaware passed away at home, as she wished, on Sunday afternoon, May 3, 2026.  She was 84 years old.  Born in Doylestown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Nancy was the daughter of the late Oliver Clayton Gilbert and the late Bertha Trexler Gilbert.  

Nancy was the beloved wife for 54 years of the late Horace "Bucky" Chalfant, Jr. who died in 2017.  She is survived by her children, Renee Baker (Bob) and Scott Chalfant; grandchildren, Nichole Smith (Deauntra) and Justin Chalfant; great-grandchildren, S.J. and Damian.

A graveside service will be Friday, May 15, 2026 at 2:00PM at SILVERBROOK CEMETERY, 3300 Lancaster Pike, Wilmington, Delaware.  There will be no viewing or funeral home service.
